Writer: Reza MamodhoussenReza Mamodhoussen

If you’re looking for ways to strengthen your brand and have better conversations with your customers, you need to build a brand community. “These communities are fun for your audience to chat with like-minded people” (West, 2020). We are going to discuss one main topic today”

1. Building a community through social media

“Engage, enlighten, encourage and especially… just be yourself!” - Susan Cooper

Branding on social media

“Brand communities rally your most loyal customers in one place, which is a massive win for any brand. People in your brand community are emotionally invested; they will buy from your company, digest your content, tell their friends and family about your company” (West, 2020).

As a brand, you must understand that your community does exist on social media, however, you must find the community and be able to communicate with it daily. This will then allow you to build a proper strategy so that each individual can easily communicate with each other.

According to Sprout Social and their article, ‘What is a brand community and how to build a successful one,’ building a thriving brand community can take many different forms, and there’s no one-size-fits-all strategy.”

There are a few ways to build a successful brand community, and we will walk you through a few important steps.

  1. Define your brand: a. This involves your mission, company vision, brand voice, and personality. What is your brand trying to do? Who is it trying to help? What does it want to be known for?

  2. Define your brand goals and metrics: a. There are a few questions to ask yourself such as what’s the purpose behind the community? What are you doing for your community members to stay engaged? How are you measuring the success of your brand community?

  3. Choose a community platform: a. “A forum is a great way for a much larger community to share interests” (West, 2020). Through social media you can engage through your platform or create a social media group.
